WE BELIEVE IN THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

The word gospel means “good news.”  We believe it is good news that God loved us enough to send Jesus.  It is through grace and by grace that God has given us faith.  That means we don’t have to prove anything to God.  We don’t have to work for God to love us.

God already loves you.  Always has. Always will.

We believe that when we see Jesus we see God.  And through the power of Holy Spirit within us, we are continually renewed and made into a “new creation.”  A term we use as United Methodists is “practical divinity.”

For us, that means expressing our love and belief in God in practical ways every day we have life.

KELSEY IS A UNITED METHODIST CONGREGATION

We are a part of a global denomination with a rich, diverse and even flawed history of trying to live out our faith in Jesus.

As a United Methodist church, we uphold basic Christian beliefs, such as

  1. a belief in the Holy Trinity (God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit)
  2. a reliance on the Bible as God’s word revealed to us
  3. a belief that we are made in the image of God
  4. the church is Christ’s body, given to share the love, mercy & grace of God with the world
